PERFECT SIGHT DEMONSTRATED

For those who may be suffering from a belief of imperfect eyesight, Christian Science brings the promise of complete healing. This Science teaches that sight is a faculty of Spirit and is therefore spiritual. Since God is Spirit, man, the image of God, is spiritual and possesses by reflection the faculty of perfect sight. The allness and presence of perfect vision are mentioned in Genesis (1:31), "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Man, God's reflection, sees everything in its true light, as "very good."

This, then, is perfect vision. What seems to be imperfect vision is an illusion of mortal mind. All spiritual faculties—seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, feeling—are harmonious, indestructible, and inexhaustible. At no time can sight or any of the faculties of Spirit be impaired or lost.

Light is essential to vision. The light of Christ, Truth, revealed in Christian Science, destroys error. Mary Baker Eddy says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 504), "The rays of infinite Truth, when gathered into the focus of ideas, bring light instantaneously, whereas a thousand years of human doctrines, hypotheses, and vague conjectures emit no such effulgence."
