"AGREE WITH THINE ADVERSARY QUICKLY"

The Holy Bible has long been a source of comfort, guidance, and instruction in righteousness to those seekers for truth who faithfully study the inspired message of the Scriptures. The healing works performed by Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, have for centuries stood as a beacon of hope in the world. Since the discovery of the Science of being by Mary Baker Eddy, Jesus' works have become even more precious to many, for through Mrs. Eddy's interpretation of the Bible they are more clearly understood.

In the beautiful discourse which we know as the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus expounded to his followers both the moral and the spiritual law, illustrating the scientific method of overcoming all manner of evil. He taught many valuable lessons, pointing the way toward a fuller demonstration of health and harmony.

In this sermon a recipe for instantaneous healing is given in these words (Matt. 5:25): "Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison." One dictionary, using this verse as an example, gives the following definition of the word "agree": "To come to an understanding; arrange a settlement." This would imply that when we agree with our adversary, we settle our difficulties.
