"FITNESS FOR PERFECTION"

To one who was hesitant about following him, Christ Jesus said (Luke 9:62), "No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." More than mere words is required of any individual who deigns to go forward in demonstration of spiritual perfection. His words must be accompanied by a sincere effort to understand and obey God and to prove His power. He must follow God to the best of his ability in order to fit himself for perfection.

Earnest students of Christian Science who study the letter of Science and drink in its spirit are rightly fitting themselves for perfection. In fact, they are manifesting perfection to the extent that they obey the law of God, good, in their daily lives.

The individual whose life is imbued with unselfed love has to that degree demonstrated perfection. One who, in his business experience, observes God's law of integrity has to that extent clothed himself with perfection. One who expresses purity has outfitted himself with a mental state which hints perfection.
