"SIN SHOULD BECOME UNREAL TO EVERY ONE"

"Sin should become unreal to every one. It is in itself inconsistent, a divided kingdom. Its supposed realism has no divine authority, and I rejoice in the apprehension of this grand verity." This is a statement we find on page 354 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Students of Christian Science know that the battle between good and evil must be fought in every individual's consciousness, and it must be found that good, Spirit, alone is true and real and that evil and matter are unreal and false. One of the mightiest weapons in the endeavor to withstand the mesmeric suggestions of evil is one's understanding that neither the beliefs of matter nor the beliefs of evil mind can ever separate man from God, who is man's Life; that man is ever coexistent, coeternal, and coharmonious with his Maker.

Mrs. Eddy writes (ibid., p. 448): "It is Christian Science to do right, and nothing short of right-doing has any claim to the name. To talk the right and live the wrong is foolish deceit, doing one's self the most harm."
