HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS: August 17, 1957 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No. 204 - A Mother's Thought Corrected—a Child Healed

Speaker: There is wide recognition today of the part that parents' attitudes play in the health and happiness of their children. Our guest proved in her own experience how very important a parent's thinking can be and the wonderful results that follow when fear and doubt are corrected with a spiritual understanding of God. I'd like to introduce Mrs. Ann Renoult of Los Angeles, California.

Mrs. Renoult: Yvonne was about fifteen months old when she started to walk. Until then, we'd noticed nothing wrong with her feet. But when she walked, one foot pointed outward at a very decided angle, and the little arch rolled away over. The foot clearly wasn't normal, and demands became stronger that she be taken to a specialist for a corrective shoe or brace.

But we had learned so much of the effectiveness of Christian Science that we decided to rely entirely on the power of God for the healing. Far from ignoring the situation, we had prompt and persistent corrective work done about it. But this work was spiritual instead of material. I knew from experience how effective prayer is. In 1939 Christian Science healed me very quickly of a nervous stomach disorder. A little later I was instantly healed of a severe running cold and sneezing spell just through reading the Christian Science textbook [Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy].
