An interesting story from the Bible tells how Elijah, during a time of great distress of mind, sought above everything else to know what God wished him to do. Then came the earthquake and a consuming fire, but these conveyed no message from God to the perplexed prophet. But in "a gentle stillness" God's message came.

Some people have been brought face to face with God through their unusual experiences, something overwhelming came into their life, and in their innermost thoughts they said, "Surely this is of God !"
