A year and a half after my mother passed on with an illness resulting from a tumor in her throat, I had something wrong in my own throat, I saw that the symptoms were just the same as those my mother had had.

Some years before, I had come in contact with Christian Science and had read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. In it I found that for which I had sought all my life. I attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, regularly and heard wonderful healings related at the Wednesday testimony meetings. So I had not the least anxiety about the throat condition.

I began a systematic study of the Christian Science literature, particularly the textbook, and gave myself treatment for the belief of heredity. I was then working as a gymnastics teacher in a large school for girls in Stockholm, Sweden. Every day, after eating my dinner, I would go off by myself and continue my study. It was with great joy that I went on the voyage of discovery in the realm of Spirit. I was never afraid that the difficulty would gain the upper hand.
