I am deeply grateful for the peace and joy which the study of Christian Science has brought into my experience. I became interested in its teachings at the age of seventeen, and it was indeed a privilege to have three years of training in the Christian Science Sunday School.

My first physical healing came about while I was still a pupil in the Sunday School. One evening I attempted to learn how to roller skate. During this endeavor I fell several times on my right knee. By the time I left the rink for home it was quite difficult for me to walk. During the night I experienced considerable discomfort. I applied the understanding I had gained in the Sunday School and was relieved to the extent that I was able to sleep most of the night. However, the next morning I was unable to use the right leg at all, but I managed to get to the telephone to call a Christian Science practitioner for help. This dear woman spoke only a few statements of truth to me, but when I hung up the telephone I walked across the room completely free from all sense of pain. This same morning I was due to report for duty on a newly acquired position, and needless to say I was there.

On page 454 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, is this statement: "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action." These statements were proved in my experience a number of years ago.
