"I WILL LISTEN"
In the Bible are recorded many instances in which individuals listened to God and were benefited by so doing. Moses, Elijah, Daniel, and numerous others listened for divine guidance with which to lead, protect, and deliver their peoples and save themselves from various evils. Through listening, our Master, Christ Jesus, was enabled to perform marvelous healing and redemptive works, including his demonstration of immortality, whereby Christianity could be established upon enduring foundations.
In our generation Mary Baker Eddy fulfilled her great mission as Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science because she invariably listened for God's voice to unfold, guide, and protect her footsteps. The value our Leader placed upon listening is clearly indicated in her poem, "Feed My Sheep," where, referring to God as "Shepherd," she writes (Poems, p. 14),
