THE AVAILABILITY OF LOVE
The Bible tells us that God is Love. Christian Science declares that Love is universal, infinite, filling all space, knowing only itself, revealing itself in tenderness, goodness, happiness, and in many other qualities. Divine Love knows nothing about trouble, sickness, or sin of any kind. Mary Baker Eddy says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 567), "To infinite, ever-present Love, all is Love, and there is no error, no sin, sickness, nor death."
Divine Love is ever available to man, because man is the reflection of God. Man enjoys all the qualities of Love. He knows nothing of sin, sickness, or death. Since this is the truth of man's being, why is it not apparent in everyone's life to a greater degree than it is?
The answer is that an individual's wrong concept of himself and others and the false beliefs generally held by mankind prevent true selfhood from being more fully expressed in this present stage of existence. The world is used to calling man a mortal, subject to the ills and passions of the flesh, capable of expressing the gamut of human emotions. We must gain an understanding of man's true selfhood and learn through experience and demonstration what being the reflection of Love actually means.
