In referring to The Christian Science Monitor,...

In referring to The Christian Science Monitor, Mary Baker Eddy states in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 353), "The object of the Monitor is to injure no man, but to bless all mankind." In my experience this newspaper accomplished its mission.

Some twenty years ago I had occasion to read the Monitor for the first time, and I recall the warm response in my thinking, although at that time I was entirely unacquainted with Christian Science. It was not until many years later, when a member of the family encouraged me to purchase the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, that I recalled the reading of this fine newspaper.

I love the application of Christian Science, the divine law of God, in my daily activities. God's law has healed me of the use of tobacco, coffee, and tea. Many times I tried to break the tobacco habit, but it always returned. However, my love of Christian Science and my great desire to be free from this habit brought freedom almost instantaneously.
