LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Hatfield and Potters Bar Gazette

Hatfield and Potters Bar Gazette Hertfordshire, England

The report of the remarks made by [a minister] on Christian Science which were published in [an issue of your paper] call for some comment.

In "Rudimental Divine Science" Mary Baker Eddy answers the question: "How would you define Christian Science?" as follows (p. 1): "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."

Christian Science is scientific because based on divine law; it is Christian because its healing work is a manifestation of Christly care.

In the days of Christ Jesus, people were healed by the Christ-spirit, and today Christian Scientists are healing by the demonstration of the same Christ-spirit, which is as present now as it was when Jesus walked the earth.

Many thousands of people today gratefully acknowledge the healing power of Christian Science, as will be seen in the testimonies of healing which appear in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel. No healing is published without proper verification.
