Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey (First Church).

Members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Point Pleasant Beach, will dedicate their church edifice, 301 River Avenue, Sunday, January 6, in services at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The first Christian Science services in this area were held in June, 1929, in Laurelton in a bungalow rented for that purpose. Organ, chairs, hymnals, and rent were contributed by interested Christian Scientists, who, in August of the same year, rented the lower floor of a dwelling on Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach. In June, 1930, they moved to a new store in Red Men's Hall at 705 Arnold Avenue, opened a Reading Room, and were recognized officially by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, as a society.
