DON'T BE A DOOR MAT!
THE writer remembers a family adage frequently quoted to her as she was growing up, "If you insist on being a door mat, don't complain when people wipe their feet on you." Reflecting upon this wise counsel and developing it in the light of Christian Science have indeed been rewarding.
No one is ever truly happy when he submits to unreasonable demands, whether these stem from personal traits, from the pronouncements of so-called incurable disease, from the erroneous law termed heredity, or from long-standing habits.
We learn in Christian Science, however, that it is error, or evil, which tempts us to believe we can be the door mats for these limiting suggestions, and we are shown how to annul them in order to free ourselves from the bondage that evil would impose.
