Mrs. Eddy says on page 110 of the Christian Science textbook, "No human pen nor tongue taught me the Science contained in this book, Science and Health; and neither tongue nor pen can overthrow it." In giving this testimony I feel that no human tongue or pen is truly adequate to express my gratitude to God for giving the world Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. This Science, God's unspeakable gift to the children of men, has been our only physician for the past ten years in a family of five.

Our healings have been many, but my initial healing I should like to share. As a child I was always considered frail, and I suffered from the effects of inflammatory rheumatism. The doctors said I had a rheumatic heart condition, and I grew up with the idea that I could never lead an active, normal life. As a young woman, I was warned that I could not have a family, and for a number of years after I was married my husband and I dismissed the thought of having children.

This sense of disappointment, together with other conditions, brought about a nervous breakdown. I was teaching school at the time, and the doctors put me to bed for six weeks. I remember praying the only way I knew how to pray, pleading with God to heal me. The minister in our orthodox church called on me; this was kind of him, but his remarks carried no meaning for me.

Soon after this, since I was not recovering, my husband took me to a large clinic, where I was thoroughly checked. They too offered no help. Upon my return home, a friend recommended that I try Christian Science. This I did, first calling on a practitioner and securing the textbook. Within six months I was completely healed, and the following year we had the first of our three children.

These children are being reared in Christian Science and have the privilege of attending Sunday School. In our family, we have had healings of whooping cough, spasms, measles, chicken pox, influenza, and other ailments. For the healings I am sincerely grateful, but the growth Spiritward and a better understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him are priceless.

It is a joy and privilege to be a member of The Mother Church, to serve in a branch church, and to have had class instruction. My fondest hope is to live so that I may be worthy of the name Christian Scientist.—(Mrs.) Katherine Johnson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
