About ten years ago, when it appeared that I had but a short time to live, a loving neighbor who knew of my plight visited me and left a copy of The Christian Science Journal.

In reading it I quickly realized that the writings it contained were the truth, and immediately I became grateful for the hope that I could be healed. This hope eased some of the discomfort which I was experiencing at the time, and I became convinced of the healing efficacy of Christian Science.

I then secured a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The first sentence I read (Pref., p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings," changed my thought from dependence on matter to reliance upon God, Spirit, and I sought the aid of a Christian Science practitioner. The memory of his loving patience and understanding will always remain with me.
