I should like to tell of the first healing that it was my privilege to witness in Christian Science. We were living in a small town where my husband's parents were the only persons interested in Christian Science. When his mother was stricken with a type of paralysis which brought about the loss of intelligible speech and the ability to swallow or digest food, Christian Science treatment was given. The power of speech was restored, and the ability to take nourishment was regained.

After this healing, the nature of Christian Science was understood more fully by all of us, and my husband's mother spent more than twenty happy, active years, enjoying life more fully than she had in the earlier portion of her career as a mother and homemaker.

I wish to express gratitude that our children were privileged to attend the Christian Science Sunday School from early childhood until they reached the age of twenty years, as provided for by Mrs. Eddy in the Manual of The Mother Church. We have had many and varied healings in our family through the years that we have been students of Christian Science. Two members of the family were healed of stomach ulcers.
