"MY YOKE IS EASY"

To our Master, Christ Jesus, the yoke he bore and commended to others was not a symbol of subjection to material forms and laws, but of allegiance to the Messianic message emanating from God. He said (Matt. 11: 30), "My yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Jesus was so consciously conversant with and obedient to his Father, God, good, that he could do nought but bless mankind with his doctrine. All earnest students of Christian Science love and understand God's law, and they have accepted the yoke of Christ. This yoke holds them in God's service, holds them to the duty of introducing God's message of comfort and healing to mankind.

Man, God's perfect, spiritual likeness, is inseparably linked to his creator. One who accepts the yoke of Christ must acknowledge, understand, and demonstrate that relationship. He must illustrate in his lifework that man is actually the perfect, spiritual image of God and that man cannot depart from perfection any more than an image in the mirror can walk away or deviate in any particular from the person who remains standing in front of it.
