I feel so very grateful for all the blessings that Christian Science has brought into my life. The words I read the very first time I opened "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy were (p. 254), "Pilgrim on earth, thy home is heaven; stranger, thou art the guest of God." And truly I have been God's truest ever since, having been awakened to man's heritage as His beloved child. One outstanding healing occurred a few years ago. Our small son became ill, and a large swelling appeared on his face and neck. He: was in pain and wanted me by his side continually. When I did not easily overcome my fear, I asked a friend for help in Christian Science, and this help was lovingly given.

I called a doctor, since I thought the condition was a so-called contagious disease. However, when the doctor came he said that the disease was not contagious, but that it was a severe inflammatory condition and that the child should have medical injections at once. I thanked him and said that we would have Christian Science treatment.

Shortly after the doctor had gone, a Sentinel arrived, and I turned to it for inspiration. One article included an account of a child's healing, and it quoted horn Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Miscellaneous Writings," where she says of the spiritual idea (p. 167), "He is wholly symmetrical; the one altogether lovely." These words were like a light to me. That was the beginning of the healing, and in two days our son was completely free.
