SPIRITUAL RECEPTIVITY IS ESSENTIAL FOR HEALING

Christ Jesus said (Matt. 21:22), "All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Sometimes we seek healing when we do not thoroughly believe that healing is possible. Doubt finds no place for lodgment in a consciousness filled with grateful, confident recognition of the truth that man is created in the image and likeness of God and that as the child of a loving Father we cannot express or reflect anything unlike Him.

Mary Baker Eddy tells us (Miscellaneous Writings, p.189), "When, as little children, we are receptive, become willing to accept the divine Principle and rule of being, as unfolded in divine Science, the interpretation therein will be found to be the Comforter that leadeth into all truth."

This Comforter is indeed Christian Science, and it leads to the realization of God's ever-presence and power. God is Principle and is the source of all action and of all government. Principle is divine, and as we understand that man is endowed with dominion over sin, sickness, and death, these errors disappear into their native nothingness.
