"How beautiful upon the mountains...

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace" (Isa. 52:7). How beautiful have the good tidings of the testimonies published in the Christian Science periodicals been to me in my times of need. I have received comfort, courage, and healing from reading them. With the thought that my experiences may help someone else, I submit my testimony in gratitude for the revelation of Christian Science and for our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who so courageously made the truth available for the complete salvation of all mankind.

A surgical operation left me with a severe case of adhesions and low blood pressure. A desire to avoid further operations and medication helped me to break through the unnatural barriers of resistance to Christian Science, and with the help of a loving practitioner the physical conditions were completely healed.

A short time later a desire for church membership and for the use of Christian Science in solving a problem relating to employment enabled me to overcome the social drinking and cigarette habits. The drinking habit just fell away. But there was a struggle with the cigarettes. This was overcome, however, when every suggestion to indulge was firmly met with the declaration from the Bible (II Chron. 20:15-17): "The battle is not your's, but God's....Set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord."
