HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS: September 25, 1954 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM NO.53 - The Correct Viewpoint Brings Healing

On this program Mrs. Bessie Ladd of Wayne, Michigan, told of her own experience, as follows:

Over thirty years ago, I was suffering from a painful rupture and was in very poor health physically and mentally. My outlook on life was certainly anything but a happy one. A surgical operation had brought temporary relief; but in a few months the condition appeared worse than ever, and the doctor was preparing me for another operation. When I learned of this, something within me rebelled; and reaching out in prayer for help in my extremity, I was led to one who told me about Christian Science and how it heals all disease. I began to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the articles in the Christian Science periodicals.

I went to see a Christian Science practitioner with the firm conviction that I would be healed; and I was. There was no more pain after that one and only treatment; and as the study and application of the truth progressed, my strength returned and I knew real happiness and harmony such as had never been before. A few years later, the doctor met me on the street, and he could scarcely believe his eyes to see me full of strength, joy, and freedom; and when asked what had done this for me, it was a pleasure to relate my healing through Christian Science. This healing of rupture has been permanent.
