In the Bible we read (Hebr. 4: 12), "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." And our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 425), "Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew."

These statements were proved true to me about three years ago. An exploratory operation was performed on my stomach by a noted surgeon in the town in which I reside. His verdict was that of cancer, which had progressed too close to vital organs for removal. I had no understanding of Christian Science, but my wife urged me to try it. I consented, and a practitioner was asked to take up the work. On the sixth day the cancerous growth passed from me.

Thereafter I was able to eat anything without distress, and I began to gain weight. Christian Science treatment was continued for uremic deposits in the form of lumps all over my body, many of which were painful. The largest of these opened and drained, and the rest disappeared.
