"LOVE MORE FOR EVERY HATE"

"Wait , and love more for every hate, and fear
No ill,—since God is good, and loss is gain."

A Christian Scientist, after pondering these lines by Mary Baker Eddy (Poems, p. 4), realized that to manifest the sanctity and glory of God, Love, is to be spiritually transformed. She saw that in the ratio that we love more, enmity disappears from consciousness. When our own thought or consciousness is purified, we cannot see impurity as belonging to man. We cannot attach unlovely or un-Godlike traits to our brother, since God, who is the only cause and creator, did not make them. Therefore, in reality, there is no hostile person, no erroneous condition, and no untoward circumstance.
