THE REALM OF LAW

The realm of divine law is necessarily the realm of divine Love. Christian Science places all law in the realm of Love. This means that no law exists which has not a constructive, helpful, remedial, and permanent purpose for good. There are no afflictive laws.

Man, as understood in Christian Science, is spiritual, the image and likeness of God, and subject only to the divine law. How does this fact affect us? It means that there is no law working to disintegrate, disturb, or destroy us; but divine law does destroy all evil, sin, disease, and death. It gives the assurance that Paul's statement (Rom. 8:28), "All things work together for good to them that love God," is absolutely true.

Let us take the side of divine law and steadfastly maintain this standpoint. We are children of God, governed by His law, order, love. Everything within us is there to express God's laws and not to cause affliction. Does a counterfeit of divine law array a ghastly list of sufferings which must be endured because human knowledge has found no way of escape from them? Such conditions are termed law only because belief in them is tenaciously held. One enlightened by Truth can break the fetters of false law and on the strong pinions of inspiration find his true being as the expression of God's law of love. In this way health and holiness are found to be natural, native, and permanent.
