THE EQUIPOLLENCE OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND

In approaching the subject of the law of supply and demand from the standpoint of Christian Science, we naturally begin with God, the only lawmaker and the infinite source of all supply as well as demand. Since the only real demands upon man are from the Father, the questions then arise: What is demanded of man by his Maker? For what purpose is man created?

The answer to both these questions is found in the Bible and in the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. The prophet Isaiah voiced God's revelation thus (43:12, 21): "Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God. ... This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise."

We see, then, that man is created to give evidence of God's ever-present perfection and power. Consequently the only demand that can ever be made on man is that he express, and make manifest, all that God includes.
