Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (Third Church).

On the occasion of the dedication of Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Sydney, at Mosman, on Sunday, March 26, 1950, services were held in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

The dedication of Third Church, which is a branch of The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts, marks an important step in the growth of Christian Science, not only in this community, but in the world-wide growth of the religion which was founded by its Discoverer, Mary Baker Eddy, in 1879.

The first Christian Science service in Mosman was held in 1928 in the Anzac Memorial Hall, Military Road, where accommodation was also found for a Sunday School. Subsequently, land suitable for the building of a church edifice, Sunday School, and offices was purchased on September 12, 1932. Work commenced in January, 1933, and the Sunday School was completed in June of the same year, where church services were held pending completion of the church edifice. The cornerstone of the church building was laid on December 24, 1940, and the first service was held on August 24, 1941.
