Christian Science Healing and the Individual

As members of The Mother Church and its branch churches in many countries we are gathered here to enlarge our understanding of the great Christian movement which was founded by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Doubtless each one brings within his heart the knowledge of healing work accomplished through the power of divine Science.

This wordless testimony throbbing throughout the auditorium at this moment is the fulfilling in a great degree of Mrs. Eddy's prophecy for the growth of Christian Science during this century. This testimony really needs no spoken word to increase the measure of its glory; but an echo of its harmony has been heard from our platform, stirring us to appreciation of our present position in the world as Christian Scientists.

Many years ago Mrs. Eddy wrote in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 317), "Jesus uttered things which had been 'secret from the foundation of the world,'—since material knowledge usurped the throne of the creative divine Principle, insisted on the might of matter, the force of falsity, the insignificance of spirit, and proclaimed an anthropomorphic God."
