The knowledge of Christian Science came to us through the remarkable healing of a much-loved teacher who, owing to the so-called incurable nature of her illness, had to resign her duties as principal of a large school in Queensland and retire to her home in London. Advice was sought from the highest medical authorities there and in Europe, but for years she was a helpless invalid, until reborn to a life of full and healthy activity through the healing power of Christian Science.

Some time later, when an avalanche of sickness, sorrow, and death engulfed our home, we remembered this healing, and after searching we found a local Church of Christ, Scientist, here in Sydney. Thus a speck of light came into our dark surroundings, the light that "shineth in darkness." That was over thirty-eight years ago, and that light has grown in radiance through years of consecrated and absorbing study.

From earliest childhood I was considered very delicate because of lung and throat trouble, supposed to be hereditary. I had continuous coughs and colds, and then as I grew up, hay fever came, and for many months of each year I suffered this added torment. Doctors and specialists, after applying their remedies, all said there was no known cure.
