Christian Science Committees on Publication Report

FRUITAGE FROM RADIO PROGRAMS

Texas

On the day that the "Faith in Our Times" program, carried over a national radio network, was conducted by a Christian Scientist, an Assistant Committee reported that a man addicted to strong drink was brought home by his father. The radio was turned on while this program was in progress, and the son was impressed. For the first time he said he wanted to quit drinking and thought Christian Science could heal him. The father, not a Christian Scientist, called the Assistant Committee, who is a Masonic brother of his. The Assistant came immediately and talked to the son and then arranged for him to go to church. The young man was deeply interested and accepted the loan of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, together with a gift of a copy of The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel. At once he found a welcome among Christian Scientists, and the last reports of this case indicated that the healing was going forward beautifully.

Dozens of letters from people who have been listening to the transcribed programs have requested literature and information on Christian Science. Over three hundred periodicals have been sent out in response. The Assistant Committees have been asked to follow up these inquiries, and many fine reports on their interviews have been made. The following are a few illustrations:
