The Peace of God

Let me be ever conscious of Thy peace,
The peace our Master promised to his own,
The perfect peace the world has never known,
The peace of him who bade the tempest cease.

Let me be ever conscious of Thy love
That whispers, Know I am from God; be still—
The omnipresent love that sees no ill,
Encompassing, beneath us, and above.

Let me be ever conscious that I dwell
Beneath the brooding shelter of Thy wings,
Secure from every thought that evil brings;
Let me be ever conscious all is well.
