It makes me very happy to be able to testify that I have proved that God is the source of my health. Before I began the study of Christian Science, there was hardly a day that I felt well. I was generally run down, every organ of my body functioning poorly. I did not begin to realize how filled with fear I was until the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, opened my eyes to the fact that our thinking is responsible for our experiences and our state of health. I was hungry for Truth, and read the Christian Science literature constantly. On reading a testimony of someone who had laid aside his glasses, I took off my own, and have never needed them since. My health began to improve at once. In fact, others seeing my progress bought copies of the textbook for themselves.

After my last child was born, a condition which would have necessitated a return to the hospital was healed in ten days, through the loving help of a practitioner. Colds, burns, constipation, and many children's diseases have been healed in our home. There have been so many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science that I am unable to mention or even remember them all. Like dream shadows pains have melted away, leaving only the memory of the lesson learned. Great protection has been experienced since my growing understanding has enabled me to perceive the unreality of disease and to know that God's children coexist with God, forever manifesting the one Mind, wherein is no knowledge of sickness. How can words express the gratitude I feel for the overcoming of many ills and much unhappiness, through our radical reliance upon God's loving care?

In trials I have learned to look away from the pain of my personal experience and to declare the oneness and perfection of God, knowing that the discord to which the senses testify has nothing to do with reality, but that what is true in reality is what is true about God. Holding to the loving promises given in the Bible, with the help of Christian Science, which makes the Bible usable and practical, brings the consciousness of good which blots out all sense of evil. Sometimes the healings have been quick, and sometimes I have had to take a firm stand and wait patiently. Sometimes I have made detours, and the way has had to be retraced, but always, as I have trusted God, He has shown me the answer to my problems. I am learning to be joyful and appreciative of little things because I have found that joy is my strength, which can be found only in that which is good.
