Our Understanding of Deity

Our great need is to know Him on whom we lean, for a blind faith in God does not give us the true sense of dominion which Christian Science teaches. We need to understand man's relation to God, and that, as God is Spirit, the real man is spiritual, reflecting the Almighty.

Christ Jesus revealed the fatherhood of God, and demonstrated the truth of spiritual sonship. He said, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." He approached his Father in deep humility and through long hours of prayer in quiet places, apart from the throngs that often pressed about him. Such was his humility that he could say, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

Cannot we, too, lean on God to the extent of emptying our thought of false concepts and self-centered egotism? As we do so, the pure light of the one Mind will illumine our path and unfold the Christ, Truth, in our consciousness, according to our faithful application of the truth of being in our thinking and living.
