The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Jamestown, North Dakota (First Church).

Lecturer: Mrs. Elizabeth McArthur Thomson; introduced by Mrs. Lois R. Game, who said:—

It is not at all unlikely that each one of us come at some time to the experience in our life when we know not which way to turn for comfort and surcease from the world's confusion. It is at this point that we turn to God and pray for wisdom, understanding, and patience, and realize that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." Human frailty is then exposed. We reach out for a higher understanding, and in that desire find the invisible, infinite God, who is perceptible to our spiritual, right thinking. One taste of God's healing power is thus revealed to us, as it was to me when I laid aside glasses, said to be indispensable. Since that time, about ten years ago, our reliance on God as All-power, has brought many healings of physical, financial, and other discordant conditions to our family.
