Perceiving

I cannot have a new supply of good—
Already all is mine. I have one task—
To know that ever, when I rightly ask,
I shall perceive, if I have understood
And followed God's direction as I should.

Help me to guard my thinking when I ask,
Lest, like the prodigal, I wander far
From where my Father's home and children are;
Help me to look through error's misty mask
And see good's allness—this, this is my task.
