An article by "Cymru" in a recent issue of your paper gives an erroneous concept of the teachings of Christian Science.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, established the Christian Science church for one purpose: "To organize a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing" (Church Manual, p. 17). This is what Christian Scientists are doing, for Christian Science is a practical, demonstrable religion, bringing into the daily experience of men and women of every station joy and health, and giving them the desire to live a better life. As we progress in the understanding and demonstration of the teachings of Jesus, we say with Paul, "Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?" for as Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death."

Students of Christian Science diligently study the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy and are constantly endeavoring to put into practice a higher understanding of the Christ, Truth. That these efforts bear fruitage can be verified by attending a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting or by reading of healings in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, found at all Christian Science Reading Rooms.
