The first paragraph of the By-Law entitled "Practitioners and Patients" in the Manual of The Mother Church, Article VIII, Section 22, states,

"Members of this Church shall hold in sacred confidence all private communications made to them by their patients; also such information as may come to them by reason of their relation of practitioner to patient. A failure to do this shall subject the offender to Church discipline."

Those who are engaged in the public practice of Christian Science healing frequently receive information concerning the personal or business affairs of individuals who turn to them for help, and they should take special notice of the provisions of this By-Law in all matters relating to their professional work.
