Deeply Rooted in Spirit

AMIDST the disturbed and disturbing conditions in world affairs, in a world made chaotic through strife and war, it is well to consider in what manner one is allowing his thought and his interests to develop. Is he drifting toward and justifying the confusion, strife, and domination rampant in the world today, or is he consistently following the admonition of Mary Baker Eddy (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 451) that Christian Scientists "must renounce aggression, oppression and the pride of power"?

Through the daily study of Christian Science, individuals the world over are coming to realize that, as the children of God, all are under the law and government of God, and to know that the apparent upheaval indicates the self-destroying activity of error. The prophet Ezekiel represented God as saying, "I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him." Mankind must learn that the Christ, Truth, alone will bring peace to a troubled world. Jesus made plain the way; and should we fail to follow in the way he pointed out by his healing words and works, we shall cease to find the peace we so much need, and the light which is necessary to the ultimate exclusion of evil of every name and nature.

In our day, the Master's teachings are illuminated through Christian Science, discovered and founded by Mary Baker Eddy. There seem to be those not yet ready to listen to this teaching, just as there were those who ridiculed and maligned Jesus, and endeavored to make of none effect his glorious words. Christian Science, however, is firmly established in the world. Being founded on the rock, Christ, it will continue to stand the test of time.
