I take this opportunity to relate a healing which came to me several years ago. I had been addicted to an excessive use of alcoholic liquor for many years; had been dismissed from two positions, and suspended from a third. It seemed impossible for me to abstain for any length of time, and I had grown to believe that I should continue drinking indefinitely. I had read of Christian Science in a desultory way, but had not had much faith in its power to help my case. At this time, however, I resolved to try it. The result was wonderful—I was healed in less than a week.

This healing took place in May, 1908, and I have not tasted liquor since that time, a period of thirty-two years. It is hardly necessary to say that I am deeply grateful for this wonderful truth. As Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 162), "Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies."
