I should like to express my gratitude to Christian Science...
I should like to express my gratitude to Christian Science for what it has done and is doing for me. When it was brought to my notice I was a very sick woman, suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and bowel trouble. I was so steeped in sickness from childhood that some chronic complaint, such as chest or skin trouble, was constantly appearing. When traveling I felt compelled to carry two or three different kinds of ointments and medicines with me. During this last period I consulted specialists and thirteen doctors who were unable to give me any relief.
Christian Science came to me through a friend, and after reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy for some weeks, I found myself turning to this beautiful religion, and with the loving help of a practitioner I was able to prove the truth of its teachings. When we all had influenza I was up in three days. Since that time I have had no further attacks, although before taking up the study of Christian Science I usually had them twice a year.
I am very grateful for the Christian Science literature. It was the advertisement of my father's business house in The Christian Science Monitor which first brought me into acquaintance with Christian Science and with the practitioner who later gave me treatment. I may say that when I went for treatment my weight was under normal. I had tried countless material remedies in order to recover my normal weight, but to no avail. In the course of two weeks' treatment I put on six pounds, and subsequently recovered my health and normal weight. It is now over ten years since this healing took place, and many others have followed. I am very grateful to have been freed from the slavery of smoking, which was of many years' standing. This healing I consider to be one of my greatest blessings.
