Among the Churches

Current Notes

Glenside, Pennsylvania (First Church).—In the spring of 1929 a group of local Christian Scientists organized First Church of Christ, Scientist, Glenside, as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. On June 2, 1929, services were started in the Keswick Building, Wharton Avenue, Glenside; and Sunday school sessions were conducted in another room in the same building.

Building of the present edifice at Abington and Parkdale Avenues, Glenside, was completed in 1936.

Christian Science churches are not dedicated until they are free from all indebtedness. Dedicatory services were held in this church on Sunday, April 21, 1940.—Willow Grove Guide.
