We can all rejoice that "F.H.A." is able to "number some good friends among Christian Scientsts."

Christian Science, being based on the Bible, teaches, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me"—this "me" being the one God, Spirit. Hence Christian Science shows the evidence of the spiritual senses to be true, and evidence of the material senses to be untrustworthy and unreliable. This is brought out in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," where in an illustrative allegory Mary Baker Eddy describes on pages 430—442 the trial of a case of illness before two courts—the "Court of Error," on the one hand, where the supposed laws of matter and hygiene are accepted, and the "Supreme Court of Spirit," on the other, where the supreme statute book, the Bible, is the only authority. The false evidence of the physical senses brought against the victim of ill-health in the lower court, results in the sentence of death being pronounced against the prisoner; but this sentence is reversed on appeal to the "Supreme Court of Spirit," where the "Jury of Spiritual Senses" agree on a verdict of "Not guilty."

It is therefore clear that the method of trial or inquiry suggested by "F.H.A." has already been rejected by thousands of Christian Scientists who have been the victims of ill-health, and they are now able to accept in humble gratitude a degree of freedom from the bondage of sickness which the "Supreme Court of Spirit" has bestowed on them; moreover, every Christian Scientist rejoices in the fact that release from illness is not dependent on the verdict of any authorities such as "F.H.A" has proposed, because this method of healing is identical with that of Jesus, who said of himself, "I can of mine own self do nothing." Mrs. Eddy says (ibid., pp. 123, 124), "Christian Science is pre-eminently scientific, being based on Truth, the Principle of all Science."
