Healing, Divinely Natural

It is recorded in Mark's Gospel: "And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. . . . And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils."

Because of the climatic conditions which prevailed in Palestine it was humanly natural that those who sought the healing ministry of Christ Jesus should often, as in this instance, have come to him in the cool of the day—"when the sun was setting." And it was divinely natural that he should have healed them of "divers diseases," thus giving proof of his God-appointed mission.

Mary Baker Eddy writes on page 25 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "The divinity of the Christ was made manifest in the humanity of Jesus." What could be more natural, not to say inevitable, than that Christ Jesus, who expressed divinity—spirituality—in an unlimited degree, should have manifested it without stint to those who were in need of healing and redemption? It could not have been otherwise, and so we find that throughout his earthly ministry Jesus was always ready to give proof of his Messiahship by healing those who were ready for healing.
