In one of your correspondent's letters, published in a recent issue, is the remark, "It is the illumination of Christian Science that has caused a great deal of disillusion by much painting and coloring of the Word of God."

The Christian Science church was organized "to commemorate the word and works of our Master," and to "reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing" (Church Manual of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 17). Its members are endeavoring to follow the example of Christ Jesus and his disciples by doing the works that they did.

The numbers of spontaneous testimonies of healing and regeneration given by Christian Scientists at the Wednesday evening meetings bear witness to the fact that this religion is giving them a clearer and more practical understanding and love for the Word of God.
