In deep gratitude to God and to Christian Science I should like to tell of the wonderful healing of my daughter.

In the summer of 1930 I sent my little girl, then eight years old, out to the street to play, and she obeyed me reluctantly. She went over to a place where building was going on and a dredge was at work. Suddenly the dredge shovel caught a scaffolding pole, lifted it high, and hurled it to the street. In falling it hit my child on the head. The workers carried the unconscious child to the nearest doctor, who had her taken immediately to the hospital. It was found that there was a compound fracture of the skull, as well as paralysis of the right arm and left leg. No hope of recovery was given us.

In utter despair I turned to a kind Christian Science practitioner whom I had met through a friend. I poured out to her my distress, and the words which this lady spoke to me, calmly, and with conviction, sank deep into my consciousness, remained there, and bore witness to the truth: "God is the Life of your child, and Life is indestructible and perfect. Your child is in God's hands; the Christ-spirit heals today just as in Jesus' time." Quieted, I went home and was able to tell my husband with conviction of the wonderful truth of perfect Life. Day and night we clung to the words of the practitioner, and knew that our child was in God's hands, and that no disturbance of any organ could nullify God's Word. We had a great deal of courage and confidence in the Great Physician, God. The practitioner, who helped us each day to set aside fear and doubt, showed us the nothingness of material law.
