In
the seemingly complex society in which we live we are constantly called upon to make decisions and carry them through; and to mortal sense we may often feel very much alone.
Danger
may be regarded as liability to harm; and this condition is apparently greatly increased by war, which removes so many material safeguards, and licenses nations to indulge in the destruction of life and property to the utmost of their ability.
The
educational systems of today embrace many steps which lead to what is termed "higher learning," an expression which refers generally to knowledge gained about facts that are considered necessary to enable men to conduct their daily affairs.
Many
of us, like the people of Jesus' day, have turned to God for the healing of physical ills when all other means have been proved ineffectual, and have found release from suffering and new freedom of health through Christian Science.
There are many earnest students of Christian Science who are depending upon prayer for healing, not only for health but for the solution of everyday affairs of life for which there is no material remedy.

In a recent issue a correspondent, in speaking of the Bible, makes a statement which might lead one to believe that Christian Scientists have a separate and distinct Bible from other denominations.
Christians
urged to pray for the establishment of world peace, and it is well that they should do so, but the question may pertinently be asked, How can Christians pray effectually for the peace of the world unless they have first demonstrated peace in their own experience?
