The Real Need
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE stands before us today revealing the truth of perfect God and perfect man, made in His image and likeness; the truth of God as Love, and of man as the image or reflection of Love, the very expression of Love; the truth that the only universe is a universe of Love, since God is Love.
Christ Jesus is our Way-shower in that he found and entered into this universe of Love; and he pointed to the real need of mankind when he said, "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
The foregoing behest of Jesus should awaken us to the realization that the great requirement, as taught by Jesus, is a deep-rooted love for God and man, manifested in love for our fellow man; a love that is never thoughtless or unkind; a love so sincere that we shall never regard hatred, malice, or jealousy as real, and consequently shall not harbor or express them, or see them in others as real.
