I wish to express my gratitude for all the blessings and healings which I have received through the study of Christian Science. I am thankful that I have had the privilege of attending the Sunday school since I was a small child. I am now seventeen years of age.

I wish to tell of an experience I had which has made me more grateful for the understanding I have already gained of Christian Science.

One afternoon when I was getting into a car with a group of friends, one of them accidentally shut the door on my hand. Immediately pain and swelling began. My friends, knowing nothing of Christian Science, commenced making a fuss over the hand and wanted to do something for it. I told them it was all right and asked them to forget about it. At first it was hard to declare the truth because they talked so much about the condition, which only made it seem more real to me, but soon they forgot about it. The two statements from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy which came to me and were a great help were (p. 424), "Accidents are unknown to God;" and (p. 113), "There is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain." In a few minutes I too forgot about the incident. Later in the afternoon someone asked how my hand felt. Looking at it, I could find no place where it had been injured. The swelling had gone down, and the hand was its natural color again. This healing proved to me that no matter where we are or with whom we are, we can always turn to Truth and receive our help.
