No Night There

We saw dark error's mists descend
And hide our friends from mortal sight.
It seemed that they had passed

How earnestly we sought and prayed
For light!

But as we travel far from sense,
We find a never-ending day,
And mists left far behind
Cannot again dismay,
But pass with all mortality
Away.
