"Just that way"

A Christian Science Sunday School teacher once asked her class the meaning of faith. The little ones hesitated; then one child volunteered, "Faith means that we know when God says a thing it is just that way." She emphasized her remarks by a vigorous pat with her little hand for each of the last three words.

The Bible contains the Word of God, and through faith we understand that the glorious promises of salvation and redemption are fulfilled exactly as stated. In the very first chapter of Genesis is found a description of the completeness and perfection of God's creation, ending with the inspiring summary, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."

The teachings of Christian Science are in accord with the Bible; and this religion emphasizes the important fact that the real universe is perfect, and that man is ever at the standpoint of perfection. God made all, and He is conscious of nothing unlike Himself; therefore evil is without actual cause or origin, and hence is illusory or unreal.
